Victor L. Hymes
Victor L. Hymes is President, CEO & CCO of Legato Capital Management, LLC, an investment management firm that identifies, seeds, and develops entrepreneurial investment teams.
Prior to founding Legato in 2004, he spent a decade as an institutional portfolio manager at Scudder, Stevens & Clark, Inc. Following Scudder’s reorganization as Zurich Scudder Investments, Inc., Victor headed Zurich’s $80 billion North American institutional business.
His professional career began with a decade of work at Goldman Sachs Group and Kidder Peabody & Co. Victor is a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, having focused in the areas of music and mathematics. He received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Victor is an independent director of Principal Funds, Inc., where he is a member of the Nominating and Governance Committee and Chair of the Audit Committee. At the Brookings Institution, Victor is Treasurer of the Board, Chair of the Budget & Finance Committee, and a member of the Investment and Compensation Committees. He is a former member of the boards of Oberlin College, Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Foundation, Earthjustice, NRDC and the National Audubon Society.
Diana D. Tamhankar, CIMA®
Diana D. Tamhankar is a Chief Investment Strategist, Senior Research Analyst and a Member of the Executive Committee at Legato Capital Management, LLC.
Prior to joining Legato in 2015, she was an Investment Research Analyst/Manager within the Investment Management Consulting Group at Charles Schwab.
From 2011 to 2015, Ms. Tamhankar provided nationwide research and consultative sales on Schwab’s retail and institutional platforms. For five years, she was a FINRA Registered Associate with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and prior to this, spent three years as a Financial Analyst with Citibank.
Ms. Tamhankar received her undergraduate degree from San Jose State University with a major in Business Administration and International Business. She received her MBA in Finance from Notre Dame de Namur University and has received the designation Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®). Ms. Tamhankar is currently a member of the Institutional Sustainability Committee’s Investment Sub-Committee of Notre Dame de Namur University’s Board of Trustees
Benjamin L. Hymes
Benjamin L. Hymes is a Senior Vice President and Senior Research Analyst.
Legato Capital Management, LLC, an investment management firm that identifies, seeds, and develops entrepreneurial investment teams.
Mr. Hymes is a member of the firm’s investment team and has responsibility for a number of client relationships. In 2017, he received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of San Francisco.
Prior to joining Legato in 2017, Mr. Hymes interned with the firm for three consecutive summers. Mr. Hymes completed the CFA Institute Investment Foundations Program in 2018.
Whitney M. Shafer, CFA
Whitney M. Shafer is a Vice President and Director of Portfolio Administration at Legato Capital Management, LLC.
Prior to joining Legato in 2022, she was a Senior Analyst at High Pointe Capital Management, LLC.
Ms. Shafer worked for sixteen years on fundamental and quantitative analysis of equity investments across US and International markets, trading, performance measurement and client reporting for institutional and individual clients. Prior to that she interned at Merrill Lynch for one year.
Ms. Shafer graduated from University of Wisconsin with a BS in Economics and Personal Finance. She became a Charted Financial Analyst (CFA®) charterholder in 2009.
